
The Chairman of the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), Professor A. Alghali, today received the Bishop of the United Methodist Church, who doubles as Chancellor of the United Methodist University in Sierra Leone, the Rt. Rev. James Boye-Caulker, in his office in Freetown.
This formal visit to the regulatory Commission is part of the existing social protocol a new Chancellor must undertake before or after assuming office.
Making a statement during his visit, Bishop Boye-Caulker praised the Commission and Senior Staff for what he called “a remarkable work done over the years to improve tertiary education across the country”.
On his part, Prof. Alghali congratulated the bishop and listed a few issues that the bishop would need to address in the University.
The VC and Principal of the UMU-SL, Prof. Ekundaya Thompson, presented the Bishop to the Chairman of TEC and, highlighted the coming activities of the University in April this year.
Bishop Boye-Caulker was accompanied by the United Methodist Conference Lay Leader, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UMU-SL and other senior staff of the University.
