The Higher Teachers’ Certificate (H.T.C.) – Secondary at United Methodist University – Sierra Leone (UMU-SL) is designed for individuals who wish to teach at the secondary school level. This programme provides students with specialized subject knowledge, teaching methodologies, and classroom management skills to educate and inspire students in junior and senior secondary schools.
Graduates of this programme can progress to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. Hons.) for further specialization in secondary school teaching.

Admission Requirements
- Three (4) WASSCE credits, including English Language (Credit 6 or better) at no more than two sittings.
- Mature Age Entry Policy – Available for experienced primary school teachers who do not meet standard entry requirements.
